HP Printer Not Connecting To Mac

HP Printers comes in various specializations like Inkjet printer to LaserJet and Wireless printers. These printers are effortlessly supported with the devices running on various OS like Mac, Android or Windows etc. HP launched many printers with high end configuration settings designed for high yield. Sometimes there are issues regarding connectivity of HP printer with Mac creating unnecessary hurdle in our day to day work. Following methodology can be used to tackle this issue of connectivity between HP printer and Mac

STEP 1: Check connection between printer and Mac

• If you have a USB printer connection then disconnect the usb cable and reconnect it. Make sure you have used have applied enough pressure to make sure the connection is secured.

• If you have a network printer connection, open printer list on your Mac to make sure your printer is connected. Open system preferences, Click Printers and Scanners, Print & Fax, or Print & Scan to open the Printers list.

STEP 2: Resetting the printer

• Turn on the printer and disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

• Power cord needs to be unplugged from the wall outlet.

• Wait for 60 seconds.

• Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

• Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.

• If the printer doesn’t turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

• Give print command and test.

STEP 3: Remove multiple printers

• Open printer list on your Mac, find the printer names that match your printer.

• If there are multiple printer queues for the same printer then remove all extra printers one by one by clicking minus sign at the bottom.

• Leave one idle printer in the list that matches your printer.

• Give print command and test.

STEP 4: Delete the existing print queue and add the printer

• Check if your Mac is connected to the Internet.

• Open Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus sign to delete it.

• Click the Add button, find and select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and click Add to add your printer.

• Click Print Using or Use.

• Select the name of your printer or AirPrint.

• Your new printer queue displays in the Printers list in an Idle status

• Give print command and test

STEP 5: Reset the printing system

• Resetting the print system deletes all devices in the print queue including both HP and non-HP devices.

STEP 6: Other options

• Do not connect the printer to a guest or host network
